About Advocacy For H.E.R.

Empowering Women Through Health, Education & Resources

At Advocacy For H.E.R., we believe every woman deserves to understand her body, advocate for her health, and thrive through every stage of midlife.

Our mission is simple:

To empower women with evidence-informed education, practical resources, and compassionate support so they can confidently navigate perimenopause, menopause, and healthy aging.

We know that menopause is more than hot flashes. It can affect sleep, mood, memory, energy, metabolism, heart health, bone health, relationships, career performance, and overall quality of life. Yet too many women enter this stage of life without the information or support they need.

Advocacy For H.E.R. was created to change that.

Our Story

Advocacy For H.E.R. was founded by Dr. Aprille McQueen, a doctoral-prepared nurse executive, patient safety leader, and women's health advocate with more than two decades of healthcare leadership experience.

Throughout her career, Dr. McQueen has dedicated herself to improving healthcare quality, patient safety, and clinical outcomes. She has led initiatives focused on creating safer systems, improving patient experiences, and helping healthcare organizations deliver exceptional care.

Yet despite those advances, she recognized a gap that affected millions of women.

Women often left healthcare appointments with treatment recommendations, but without the education, confidence, or practical guidance needed to understand their options and make informed decisions.

That realization became even more personal through Dr. McQueen's own health journey.

After navigating infertility, IVF treatments, autoimmune disease, uterine fibroids, surgery, and eventually perimenopause, she experienced firsthand how confusing and overwhelming hormonal changes can be, even for a healthcare professional.

She discovered that many women were asking the same questions:

"Is this normal?"

"Why wasn't anyone talking about this?"

"What are my options?"

"How do I know what's right for me?"

Those questions inspired the creation of Advocacy For H.E.R.

Why We Exist

Our goal isn't to tell women what decisions to make.

Our goal is to help women understand their choices.

We believe that informed women make empowered decisions.

Through trusted education, structured coaching, and practical tools, we help women prepare for productive conversations with their healthcare providers while developing sustainable strategies that support long-term health and well-being.

Our approach combines clinical evidence with real-world application because education alone isn't enough. Women need practical strategies they can confidently implement in everyday life.
